Wedding Bells!

This past weekend was the perfect weekend for a family wedding. I was a bit worried when the cool weather started setting in over the last few days, but the summer sun decided to pull through one last time while my uncle and his new wife said their vows at a beautiful outdoor countryside wedding.

My wedding date ❤

I love weddings. I love the details. I love the food. I love celebrating love. And I LOVE dressing up. When I was planning my outfit, I knew exactly the dress I’d wear. My Peacock wrap dress from Tall Girls UK has just the right amount of summer vibes for such a beautiful day, but the sleeves give the perfect amount of coverage for when the cool September breeze sweeps in. And it’s the perfect balance of elegance and charm to wear to an outdoor ceremony.

It’s always so refreshing to be able to wear a full length maxi dress that’s still long enough with a small heel on. I completed the look with a delicate teardrop diamond pendant given to me by my parents. The shape perfectly matched the shape of the peacock feathers.

The day was lovely, and the visit with my family was, as always, far too short. It’s so rare to get us all in the same place at the same time, and looking so good!! ❤

That Fit Life

My boyfriend and I have been talking embarrassingly long about how we’re going to get back to the gym and get back to living a healthier lifestyle. I wouldn’t say that we’re particularly unhealthy, but neither of us have really been very active for quite some time. For the last year I’ve had a week here or there where I’ll go for jogs or do an at home workout, but I get so easily distracted when I’m at home and lose all motivation.

So about a month ago, while I was in the midst of working on cosplays between work and sleep, we decided that once the craziness of FanExpo had settled, we would join a gym and commit to going together. The couple that works out together, stays together, ya?

So that brings us to the middle of September. I feel like I’m back on a somewhat normal schedule since FanExpo finished, so last week Wednesday, we joined the gym. Not gonna lie, having fitness on the  brain definitely inspired this week’s look.

This also brought me to the realization that my selection of workout gear is VERY minimal and that I need to do some research on some great workout tights for these long legs. These LTS leather leggings look and fit really well, but they’re definitely not what I would actually wear to the gym. If you know of some brands that offer cute/long styles, I’d love to hear. This girl needs to stock up!

I completed my look this week with this super rad trainer jacket from my friends over at Pink City. I love how long it fits, and how cool I can look while still getting my nerd on. I feel like I should be gaining extra magikarp candies though while wearing this, because I’ve got a LONG way to go still until I can evolve them into a gyarados.. Gotta catch ’em all! …..or so I’ve heard.

Happy 40th Long Tall Sally

This last week, Long Tall Sally was celebrating it’s 40th! As you’ve seen on my blog over the last 6 months, they’ve been a staple to my wardrobe especially when I’m looking for tall pieces that fit and look great, so I was so excited to celebrate  along with them.

All week I’d been resharing some of the looks on my instagram that I’d styled with LTS pieces, leading up to their in-store parties on Saturday. Company wide, their stores hosted in-store shopping events to celebrate the ocassion, so I made sure to stop by the downtown Toronto location wearing some new pieces from their 40th anniversary collection.

If you’ve yet to browse the new items from the collection, I recommend you go now! I was SO excited to finally see a great pair of leather pants (I’ve been waiting!!!), and even more excited when they fit and feel so good. I was a bit worried they might not be easy to move in, but I wore them to the party on a nice warm day, and the stretch in the pant moves so comfortably. I was also really excited for the bomber jacket. Something cute and very current style-wise that fits my arm length. Love. I also got my hands on a few pairs of leather tights (I’m basically obsessed with anything when it comes to leather legwear), and a nice knit sweater dress, all of which I’ll make sure to style soon for you.

When I got to the party, as always I was greeted by one of their amazing staff members at the door, and was then offered to pick a prize out of a jar! I won 20% off my purchase so I quickly started looking around to see what I would use it on. I heard another lady shortly after won a pair of shoes! Lucky!!

As I looked around, I met and chatted with the most lovely Laura, another one of the staff at Toronto’s LTS store. It was so nice to make the connection and put another face to a company that I love so much. I told her I had my eye on a Bench jacket and after she told me how much she loved the piece, I knew it was what my 20% off was going towards.

After hanging out a bit longer and enjoying a few sweet treats, I made my purchase and said my goodbyes. Though I know I’ll make my way back soon because I heard there’s some exciting new things in the next collection (though that’s all Lauren would really tell me)!

Did any of you make it to any of the LTS events in your towns? If so, how’d it go? And what kind of goodies did you splurge on?
