The title says it all. As soon as the cold weather hits, I turn into a hermit that only leaves the house if I absolutely have to…. sooooo basically only when I have to go to work. My social life suffers, my creativity seems to have frozen with the icicles outside my window, and my mood matches the grey wintery skies. Apparently I’ve been hibernating most of 2017…
I’m not sure where the shift happened, or if it was just the fresh start of a new year, but we’re halfway through January and I feel my hibernation lifting. I’m getting excited to create again, I’m slowly falling back into somewhat of a routine, and I’m feeling like myself again. Maybe it’s my new pink hair. Maybe it’s the new boots I got for 40% off… Or maybe it’s the new jacket I scored for only $15. Regardless. I’m loving it. Lay it on me 2018.
***Disclaimer: I bought the red jacket before dying my hair pink.

Dressing for the weather this month has been quite the challenge. We rang in the month with some pretty promising Spring weather, and then after a dip in temperature, some standard April Showers, and of course a standard April snow storm…. (wait.. what?!), the weather seems to be heading in right direction.
One of my favourite purchases so far this year has been a staple in my wardrobe this month. My clear raincoat from Long Tall Sally has been keeping me dry with all the wet/snowy weather we’ve been getting, and now that things are finally getting warmer, I don’t have to worry about covering up any of my awesome summery outfits! One of the best parts? The fact that these sleeves would keep dry even the longest of shirt sleeves!
Also, this entire outfit may or may not have been inspired by the endless amounts of Coachella photos that have been filling up my Instagram feed. One day I’ll be able to go and experience it for myself, and I’ll be prepared for any kind of weather with a badass raincoat like this one. Until then, I’ll just rock my festival vibes here in the 6ix for the summer. Who knows, maybe I’ll bring this look to our own Bestival in June!
Raincoat: TTYA x LTS Rain Mac
I’m wear a size 6.
Romper: Forever 21
I’m wearing a medium. I also don’t mind the ‘cheeky’ fit for beach/festival wear but wouldn’t recommend it to tall sistas who are looking for a slightly more conservative fit.
Flower crown: made by me!!
Umbrella: Blue Banana in Kensington Market, Toronto.
